Some silver, gold and white

I am getting my shop back up after a nice summer break: restocking inventory, buying new paints and brushes and finding excuses to get most of the completely irrelevant stock at Michael's. While at it, I realized that I really am out of a lot of my paints AND down to my last white travel mug. The new mugs are arriving next week but for now here are a few BLACK mugs done in silver, gold, and white paints :)

The need to be funny

Every blog I read is funny, informative, chock full of great photos of cute homemade outfits and yummy recipes. Mine is not. I can paint somewhat well. I can entertain two little girls somewhat well but blogging... No, it doesn't seem to come naturally. And yet I keep coming back to it and try to reinvent what it is I want to write about. It's a stream of consciousness kind of thing. Especially at midnight, which is the time when the kids are in bed and I finally have time to work. So here is to being consistently inconsistent! And just to throw in something painterly into the mix, here is one sort of Halloween-y since it is coming up.

Halloween is almost here!

I love Halloween, not for the creepy skeletons and creepy movies on TV but because it has a lot of special events surrounding it. My husband and I met at a Halloween party. His birthday is October 30th and my mom's on the 25th, and of course you can't beat Halloween's colors. Orange and black - you just can't go wrong!

I will admit I have never carved a pumpkin. Me and sharp object generally just don't mix but this year I did make a couple of contributions to our pumpkin patch:

And of course, what's Halloween without spiders. Here are a few that have taken residence around here:

I hope your Halloween are coming along nicely! Cheers :)
